Leatherface Is Back in First Trailer for Netflix's TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE

Netflix has released the first trailer and a new poster for its coming horror film Texas Chainsaw Massacre, which is a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s 1973 film, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The trailer features the return of Leatherface as he embarks on a brutal and bloody killing spree. It also shows the return of Sally Hardesty (Olwen Fouéré), who will once again come face to face with the monster that almost killed her in the first film.

In the film, "Melody (Sarah Yarkin), her teenage sister Lila (Elsie Fisher), and their friends Dante (Jacob Latimore) and Ruth (Nell Hudson), head to the remote town of Harlow, Texas to start an idealistic new business venture. But their dream soon turns into a waking nightmare when they accidentally disrupt the home of Leatherface, the deranged serial killer whose blood-soaked legacy continues to haunt the area's residents -- including Sally Hardesty (Olwen Fouéré), the sole survivor of his infamous 1973 massacre who's hell-bent on seeking revenge."

This sequel “returns to the roots of the Hooper and Kim Henkel creation that was considered one of the scariest films of its era, even though most of the splatter was implied and not shown.” It’s explained that the film “seeks to pick up where the Hooper and Kim Henkel film initially left off, bringing the most notorious horror franchise back to life in the same bold and provocative manner that it was first introduced to the world.”

The film is coming from Legendary Pictures and producer Fede Alvarez. Netflix picked up the rights to the film from Legendary, so if you were hoping to see the movie in theaters, that’s not gonna happen. David Blue Garcia directed the horror movie.

The movie drops on Netflix on February 18th. You can also check out the poster below, which features Leatherface enjoying a nice sunny day in a sunflower field. Check it out!
