Lee Child's JACK REACHER TV Series Has Landed at Amazon

Last year it was announced that Lee Child’s Jack Reacher book series was set to be adapted into a TV series. Well, that project has landed at Amazon Studios. The days of Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher are over and I’m sure that will make fans of the book very happy.

When previously talking about the series, Child teased, “We’re rebooting and starting over and we’re going to try and find the perfect guy.” Now, Cruise was great in the role, but he did not fit the character physically.

Amazon landed the rights to Jack Reacher after a competitive bidding war. According to the report, the project is in development under a script-to-series deal, and it’s being developed by Scorpion creator Nick Santora.

I enjoyed the two Jack Reacher films that have been made by director Christopher McQuarrie, but I think the stories of this character will work a lot better in series form. This is the kind of character that deserves a long form of storytelling like a series and Amazon seems like the perfect home for it. I like what they did with the Jack Ryan series!

What do you all think about Amazon developing a Jack Reacher series?
