Legendary Comic Artist Alex Ross Draws Brandon Routh as Kingdom Come Superman
During Comic-Con it was announced that Superman star Brandon Routh would play the Kingdom Come version of Superman in The CW’s upcoming "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event.
This got a lot of fans incredibly excited! I thought Routh made a great Superman and the fact that he’s going to reprise the role again in DC’s Arrowverse is pretty cool! It was completely unexpected, and the fans are crazy excited.
Legendary comic artist Alex Ross has since created a portrait showing us what Brandon Routh could look like as Kingdom Come Superman, and now I can’t wait to see how the actor is actually going to look in the role!
There’s no word on how Routh's new version of the Man of Steel will be worked into the Arrowverse or if this character will have any connection to Routh’s previous take on the character in Superman Returns.
This Kingdom Come take on Superman was a DC comic miniseries that was a reimagining from Mark Waid and Alex Ross, and it gave us an older, darker take on Superman as his faith in humanity and their reliance on superheroes is destroyed. He ends up retreating to the Fortress of Solitude. In has absence there is a rise of dangerous super villains and years later, when he returns to reform the Justice League, they construct a prison to put all these villains in.
Are you excited that Routh is going to be playing Superman again?
