LEGO’s THE GOONIES Pirate Ship Set Lets Fans Relive the Ultimate ‘80s Adventure

Get ready to do the Truffle Shuffle, because LEGO is taking fans back to Astoria with The Goonies Pirate Ship Set. Inspired by Richard Donner’s beloved 1985 adventure film, produced by Steven Spielberg, this epic LEGO Ideas creation brings The Goonies’ legendary treasure hunt to life in a way only LEGO can.

Clocking in at 2,912 pieces, this massive build recreates The Inferno, the infamous pirate ship belonging to One-Eyed Willy, and it’s packed with secrets, traps, and nostalgic callbacks.

Inside the ship, builders will discover the Fratellis’ hideout, the caves, and One-Eyed Willy’s treasure room, all packed with clever play features. Activate a boulder trap with the Copper Bones Skeleton Key or uncover hidden surprises in the Skeleton Organ. There’s even a nod to the infamous deleted octopus scene.

To celebrate the reveal, Ke Huy Quan, who played Data, returned to show off the set in a fun announcement video, complete with some of his old movie gadgets. Seeing him light up as he revisits his Goonies memories is pure joy. Quan shared:

“Revisiting Data after all these years — but this time in LEGO form — has been such a joyful experience. The Goonies was all about heart, adventure, and friendship, and this set captures that spirit in fantastic detail.

“From the booby traps to the treasure room, it's like stepping back into the tunnels with the gang — only now, I get to share that magic with a whole new generation of fans.”

Of course, the entire Goonies crew is along for the ride. The set includes minifigures of Mikey (Sean Astin), Mouth (Corey Feldman), Chunk (Jeff Cohen), Brandon (Josh Brolin), Stef (Martha Plimpton), Andy (Kerri Green), Mama Fratelli (Anne Ramsey), Francis (Joe Pantoliano), Jake (Robert Davi), One-Eyed Willy’s skeleton, and Sloth (John Matuszak).

The idea for this set came from Greece-based 3D artist Vaggelis Ntezes (known in the LEGO Ideas community as Delusion Brick), who submitted the design as part of the LEGO Ideas program — where fan creations can become official sets.

Ntezes explained: “In designing this set, I revisited my childhood memories – growing up in the '80s, playing with LEGO Pirates sets and watching The Goonies.

“Combining nostalgia, fantasy, and creativity, I wanted to build something that offered both playability and display value. The final design merges the legendary Inferno with the cave system and booby traps, capturing the spirit of adventure that made the film so unforgettable. I'm thrilled to see it come to life and hope it brings joy to fans old and new.”

For longtime fans, this set is the perfect tribute to one of the greatest 80s adventure movies ever made.

The Goonies LEGO set will be available for LEGO Insiders Early Access on November 1, with a wide release on November 4, priced at $329.99.
