Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher, Anna Faris and Michelle Buteau Set To Star in Comedy Film SPA WEEKEND

Leslie Mann (Knocked Up), Isla Fisher (Edding Crashers), Michelle Buteau (Babes) and Anna Faris (Scary Movie) are set to star in a new ensemble comedy film titled Spa Weekend.

The movie is set to be helmed by Bad Moms writer and directors Jon Lucas and Scott Moore.

The story follows three best friends, “Jane, Coco and Sophie, as they embark on some much-needed pampering during a luxury spa break in Palm Springs.

“But when their trainwreck friend, Mel, turns up, the relaxation quickly descends into chaos with hilarious consequences.”

Producer Suzanne Todd said in a statement: “Thank goodness the rumors are false – comedy in Hollywood is not dead! What a joy to work with these amazing funny talented women on my fourth movie with the incredible comedic team of Lucas and Moore.

“We had a great experience with John Friedberg on Bad Moms and are thrilled to be working together again – giving hard-working, stressed-out women, a movie to make them feel seen and appreciated while enjoying some real laughs.”

Producer John Friedberg added: “Suzanne, Jon and Scott struck gold with the Bad Moms franchise and Spa Weekend captures that same magic. It’s irreverent, outrageous, and always deeply relatable.

“Leslie, Isla, Michelle and Anna are some of the most hilarious actors in the business and this will undoubtedly be an unforgettable on-screen combination. The market is drastically underserved with quality comedies, especially for a female audience, and when these films are good, they really work.”

While this is an all-female story, it’s a story I can relate to because that basic story concept is something that has actually happened to me for real, and I’m sure many of you might have a similar experience of a trainwreck friend showing up from out of nowhere and messing up your plans.

I look back on those experiences now and laugh and think of them fondly, but while it’s happening, it’s a different story!
