Lestat Walks the Streets of New Orleans in Teaser Trailer for AMC's INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE
We’ve got another teaser trailer to share with you for AMC’s upcoming series adaptation of Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire. The teaser is titled “Lestat,” and it features Sam Reid in the role of Lestat de Lioncourt walking the streets of New Orleans, but it doesn’t feature his face.
The series also stars Game of Thrones actor Jacob Anderson in the role of Louis de Pointe du Lac. The story is set at the turn of the 20th century in New Orleans, and it follows the vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac as he relates the story of his life to a reporter, in particular how he was turned into a vampire and then mentored by Lestat de Lioncourt.
I hope this ends up being a great series! This is a big investment for AMC and it’d be a shame if they dropped the ball. Executive producer Mark Johnson previously talked about the series with People, saying:
"Developing this series carries great pressure and responsibility. What Anne Rice created and what her fans have been transfixed by forces us to take this book-to-television show transition with a great deal of responsibility. It is imperative that we do not disappoint her fans and yet we need to make sure that this story, these characters sing for a modern audience."
Rolin Jones (Perry Mason) will serve as showrunner on the series. The late Anne Rice and her son Christopher Rice are also executive producers. The first season of the series will consist of seven episodes. The series will be released in Fall 2022.
