Letitia Wright Seems to Have Confirmed BLACK PANTHER 3 on the Golden Globes Red Carpet
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever had a great night at the Golden Globes this week, when the Queen of Wakanda herself, Angela Bassett, won the award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Her speech was beautiful, and it was awesome to see her take home the award, making her the first actor to take home a major acting award for a Marvel movie. But that wasn’t the only exciting Black Panther-related news to come out of the night.
Variety tweeted that in an interview with Letitia Wright on the red carpet, the actress who portrays Shuri in the films was asked about a possible third film, and she stated:
"I think it’s already in the works. We just had a terrific two years of bringing [Wakanda Forever] out… we need a little bit of a break. We need to regroup [director Ryan Coogler] needs to get back in the lab. It’s gonna take a while, but I’m really excited for you guys to see that."
Wright, then realizing she was probably putting her foot in the mouth, walked back her statement, saying:
"I always try to do positive thinking and believe that good words manifest. So I’m manifesting a Black Panther 3, why not?"
I bet Marvel has reached out to gauge the interest of the film’s director and cast, and has probably renewed the necessary contracts, so while we haven’t seen an official statement about the next sequel hitting the schedule, they probably do know a little more than we do… for now. Stay tuned, and let us know what storyline you’d like the franchise to take on next.
