Let's Talk About Captain America's Story Arc in AVENGERS: ENDGAME

While I know not everyone has seen Avengers: Endgame yet, I wanted to talk about some aspects of it with those who had a chance to see it over the weekend.

If you haven’t seen the movie yet, then you need to click out of here because I’m going to dive into some heavy spoiler territory. This is a discussion for people who have already seen the movie. Or, I guess, anyone that doesn’t care about spoilers.

I just wanted to talk about the story arc for Steve Rogers a.k.a. Captain America in the film. We’ve been following the incredible journey of this character since Captain America: The First Avenger and Endgame brings it to a close in the sweetest and most perfect way.

I thought for sure Rogers was going to die in Endgame, but I’m sure glad it didn’t end up that way. After everything that he’s gone through in his life, it makes perfect sense to give him the peaceful and happy ending that he deserves.

Thanks to the Quantum Realm and the ability to time travel through it, Rogers was able to return to his time and finally have that dance with the love of his life, Peggy Carter. This led to him marrying her and living a long life until he was old and grey.

What I really wanted to discuss here, is what was Steve Rogers doing all those years with Peggy!? I have so many questions! Was he still Captain America? Was he working with the government all that time? Was he still going out trying to save people and the world? Did he have any other amazing adventures? Did he stop S.H.I.E. L.D. from being infiltrated by Hydra? Was history changed? Or did he just live a peaceful life with Peggy and let the world run its course without Captain America in it to save the day?

I don’t know! But I want to know, and I’m curious to see if we will get more Captain America films or a series that dives into what Captain America was doing all those years. Maybe it had no effect on anything, but it must have right?

Also, I assume that most of the time the other Steve Rogers was still trapped in Ice, but what happened when he was thawed out? Were there two Steve Rogerses running around? One young and one old? Did they meet each other like young Spock and old Spock did in Star Trek?

Also, he took Thor’s hammer with him when he went through the Quantum Realm! What happened to the hammer? What did he do with it? Did he show it off to Peggy?

There are so many damn questions! If anyone has any theories please share them! I’m sure some of you might come up with even more questions, and if so, ask them! Unfortunately, I won’t have any answers for you.

I hope that one day Marvel gives us some kind of explanation that explains the ramifications of what happened with Steve Rogers.
