Let's Talk About GO GO POWER RANGERS #28
Go Go Power Rangers #28 is out now, and it is very different. I liked it; it was just different. If you haven’t read the issue yet, you can find it at your local comic store, comiXology, or wherever you like to buy your comics.
Wow. This issue was weird. It features Rita and her lackeys being shown different worlds in an attempt to rehabilitate them. This takes place before any Power Rangers material that we’ve seen and is what Rita was doing in the dumpster on the moon. Rita is forced to live out the lives of everyone she terrorized and destroyed as an evil villain. Goldar is living in battles alongside his brother Silverback, Squat is riding birds(?), Finster apparently has a family or something like that, and Baboo is the ruler of his planet and smart. It’s very weird and interesting to follow.
For most of the issue, we follow Rita living the life of Neyosha. She progresses from a child to a young adult in a university, to being married, to having children and grandchildren. Then, she sees Rita arrive and destroy Neyosha’s world. This is when she wakes up and it’s explained what the heck is going on before she is put into a new life, the life of Riveka.
Monitor, the AI(?) in the dumpster that is taking care of the rehabilitation says that it should take about 26,234 years for Rita to go through all of the lifetimes. We know that Rita is only imprisoned for 10,000 years. I wonder if that’s why she’s still evil. I also wonder if that’s why she and her goons are fairly incompetent compared to what we always hear. We always hear they’re powerful and strong, but they fail over and over again. Could it be part of their subconscious that has rehabilitated and is now sabotaging their efforts? It’s just a thought, but I doubt it’s how things work. Could Rita be making her return in Go Go Power Rangers #32?
