Let's Talk About GO GO POWER RANGERS #32
OH MY GOODNESS! It’s the end of an era. The final issue of Go Go Power Rangers is out, and I’m not going to lie, I got a little emotional. This series has been an amazing companion to Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and I’m glad that it is here. I’m also glad that Ryan Parrott and Sina Grace were able to end it when they felt it was right instead of being forced to cancel it. If you haven’t read GGPR #32 yet, you can grab your copy from your favorite comic retailer like comiXology.
Picking up where the preview leaves off, Tommy and Jason have a bit of a heart-to-heart. These are always hard because they’re both right based on information that they have. The problem is that Tommy doesn’t have all the facts, only lies that then create the picture he describes. I’m a little surprised we didn’t see some fists fly.
Meanwhile, Zedd is convinced that Grace destroyed that evil-looking dagger. However, Billy confronts Grace about it and how he knows she didn’t actually get rid of it. She shows him that he’s right and then he says he wants to propose a deal to Grace. He doesn’t say what the deal is, so we’re left in the dark which I find a little rude!
Everyone then says their goodbyes, and Jason gives the new Rangers some advice. Above the Earth, we see Jason, Trini, and Zack on the Spectrum. They’re reconnected to the Morphin Grid and given the powers of the Omega Rangers alongside Kiya before heading out on a new mission. It is crazy how with hindsight we can see a bunch of red flags regarding Kiya though. Like how eager she seems to fight things.
On Earth, the new Rangers are training and get yelled at for making jokes during it. Pretty sure that’s just Kim feeling hurt by everything going on and her not knowing. Meanwhile, Tommy takes them out for smoothies and tries to explain he’s been in their shoes and he’s there for them. They then have to take off to fight a monster in Sydney!
I absolutely love the last two pages and the parallels being shown between Tommy and Jason. It’s absolutely gorgeous to see.
