Let's Talk About LEGO MASTERS Episode 7 - "Storybook"
The latest episode of LEGO Masters was titled “Storybook” and featured the building teams bringing to life a story created by children. It was a lot of fun to watch and to just hear the insane story that the children created. If you haven’t watched the episode yet, there are spoilers ahead. You can watch new episodes Wednesday nights on Fox and then on Hulu the next day.
HOLY COW! Tyler and Amy are expecting! Honestly, that was absolutely incredible to hear and I’m very excited for them. Now, let’s get to the actual show.
The builders had 8 hours to build the first part of a story created by a group of children. During this part some of the teams didn’t seem to be doing too well. Christian & Aaron in particular struggled with the building and Mark & Boone were doing pretty good, but had too much empty space. Then, the twist happened where a different kid went to finish the story for each team and Richard & Flynn started to have more struggles as well.
I’m a little surprised at how much people struggled with these challenges. It was pretty clear throughout that the top two were going to be Tyler & Amie and Sam & Jessica. Both of those teams did such incredible jobs. Coincidentally, they were also the two groups to make the villain of the story rodents. When the twist got thrown in, these two builds just continued to soar above the rest. Mark & Boone’s build got better after the twist, but there was still too much empty space. I don’t think we’ve had an episode before where the top two were so clear from start to finish.
In the end, Tyler & Amie won (yay!) not only first place, but also tickets to go to LEGOLAND New York when it opens in July (I wonder if that’s changing at all with COVID-19). I loved their build and the carrot monster and broccoli minions after the twist were so freaking incredible! That being said, I think it was very close. Sam & Jessica’s elephant with candy cane legs I think really gave them a run for their money. Sadly, Richard & Flynn ultimately lost and were eliminated from the show. They had some good ideas, but their execution this week was not the best.
