Let's Talk About MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS #44
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #44 is finally out and it did not disappoint! I was really excited to read the comic written by Ryan Parrott and drawn by Daniele di Nicuolo. I don’t want to waste any more time, so let’s get talking about how cool this issue was.
In this issue, Dayne has the Rangers on the ropes. He has taken the Thunder Megazord down and is ready to tear the Rangers out and finish the job. Luckily, the Omega Rangers arrive in their Zords, knock Dayne down a peg or two and then jump down and fight him into submission! They capture Dayne and get him ready for containment. The Power Rangers say thanks and want to learn more about the Omega Rangers, but the Omega’s stay silent to protect their identities. I do raise a small complaint here. Kiya could’ve talked to them. They don’t know her.
After being saved by the Omega Rangers, the Power Rangers have some heated discussions with the three new Rangers begging the question, is this worth it? They have some very valid concerns, but at the same time, didn’t they know the risks? Were they blinded by all the success of the Rangers before them? It should also be noted that Zordon doesn’t seem to know who the Omega Rangers are either.
The Omega Rangers aren’t too happy right now either. Most of them are questioning the idea of not talking to the Power Rangers, but Jason says that’s the rule. Jason is pissed though and goes to Blue Emissary about wanting to do something to help, but it’s not to stick around to save the Power Rangers if they need it again. No, it’s something crazier.
Meanwhile, Bulk and Skull are talking to people about their impressions of this new group of Rangers for Ranger Station. There are mixed opinions with some liking it and others seeing them only as a menace. However, we do get to see that Skull’s new friend seems to be sticking around a little which warms my heart.
Jumping over to Lord Zedd. He’s furious and none of his lackeys want to engage him. However, he wants to rush the Rangers now while they’re weak and so he orders Squat, Baboo, Finster, and Goldar to find him a new team to be Dark Rangers and reassemble the Green Power Crystal. It’s while Finster is trying to reassemble the Green Power Crystal that the window shatters and he appears to be under attack. That’s right, the Omega Rangers are storming Lord Zedd’s castle. This is nuts since the Rangers are typically more of a defensive team than an offensive one. It makes me really wonder what is going to happen in the “Necessary Evil” storyline!
Anyway, the Rangers are greeted by a bunch of Putties and Kiya doesn’t seem all that impressed by them. Her cohorts explain that it’s different with certain circumstances. Jason eventually breaks from the group and actually goes to Zedd’s throne room. There, he’s greeted by more Putties who he dispatches of quickly and then we see one of the coolest things ever! Lord Zedd gets up and starts fighting Jason! This is so cool! I just about lost it when that happened! I cannot wait for issue #45 to release. I need to see that fight right now.
