Let's Talk About MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS #55
The final issue of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is finally here. MMPR #55 is the precursor to the two new series Mighty Morphin and Power Rangers. We get a new, mysterious Green Ranger, a mega awesome fight, and Grace Sterling becomes a much bigger figure before the split storyline begins. The comic is written by Ryan Parrott with art by Moisés Hidalgo and colors by Igor Monti with Sabrina Del Grosso providing color assistance. You can purchase your physical copy through local comic shops or digital copies through outlets like comiXology.
The Power Rangers' THUNDERZORDS vs the Dark Rangers' TERRORZORDS-and nothing will ever be the same! Plus, the shocking first appearance of the character no Power Rangers fan EVER expected!
Picking up where the preview left off, the Rangers aren’t doing great. The Dark Rangers are kicking their butts with the Terrorzords. One complaint I do have is that it’s impossible to know which Dark Ranger is talking if they’re not in the panel. Well, Billy decides that things are very dire and calls up Grace Sterling to activate the Green Protocol and bring back the Green Ranger. Who could it be?
I’ve been hoping that it would be a new character like Violet Arias. She’s not a fan of the Rangers, and I think it would provide a very interesting dynamic. However, Grace goes to talk to Drakkon in his cell and offers him a path of redemption. They’re definitely doing pretty much everything to say that he’s the new Green Ranger. I mean, it could still be Violet or someone we haven’t met yet as we never see their voice nor hear them talk. They just show up, kick Zedd’s butt, and destroy the Chaos Crystal. It certainly does look like it’s Drakkon though.
Let’s take a moment to enjoy this new Green Ranger suit though. It just looks amazing. The gold accent in the helmet, the pointed shoulders on the shield, the cool Tron-esque lines on the suit, the redesigned gloves, everything is amazing! I kind of wish all the other Rangers could get some new threads.
Now the big question. What is Grace plotting? I’m kind of worried about Grace. I mean, clearly Zordon probably has some skeletons in his closet if you’ve read the synopsis for Mighty Morphin #1, but still. Grace is starting to get real shady.
