Let's Talk About ONCE & FUTURE #5

Once & Future #5 is a fantastic next chapter in the story. If you haven’t read the issue yet, you can get it at your favorite comic retailer including comiXology. You’ll definitely want to read before continuing this article as we will be revealing some spoilers.

OK, this is another exposition heavy episode. Bridgette explains that the evil blonde chick is not only her daughter, but also Duncan’s mother. This in effect means Duncan and Galahad are brothers. Bridgette is then able to act as a pseudo-King Fisher to open the portal at the cost of her own life. Duncan runs in and grabs the grail after besting Galahad in the hopes of using it to restore Bridgette. However, it turns out that the grail can’t be brought to this world and so he needs a new plan and they head to Bath again. There, he calls upon the ladies of the water and they give him Excalibur, the blade. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to have the healing scabbard though, but Duncan’s got a plan. We just don’t know it yet.

This was a very important issue because of the exposition, and it was kinda cool to see Duncan losing it over Bridgette and best Galahad. However, I’m worried as to what his plan actually is. Is he going to try going after Arthur? Is he going to do something regretful? Probably. I cannot wait to see where we go from here.
