Let's Talk About SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN #5
Things are starting to get crazy in Something is Killing the Children. James Tynion IV’s and Werther Dell’edera’s series just released its fifth issue and things are really picking up. If you haven’t read the latest issue, you can purchase it from your local comic store or wherever you like to get your comics, including comiXology.
This issue, James is talking to the octopus doll thing, and it’s getting in his head. However, we cut over to Erica and Tommy who are in a cave with a monster. Erica’s trying to fight the monster with a chainsaw, but Tommy doesn’t see it, so he thinks that she’s trying to kill him. He’s nervous and ends up accidentally shooting James. I can’t say I blame him for nervously pulling the trigger. He can’t see the monster and there’s a girl with a chainsaw moving around, seemingly erratically. They stabilize James temporarily and find a girl named Bian whom I don’t trust.
Erica then pulls out what looks like a fancy box cutter and stabs Tommy’s head with it, showing him people with bandannas on their faces and it lets him see the monster and freak out. He then takes James and Bian out of the cave to get them to a hospital. This lets Erica have some more room to seemingly destroy the monster. We see her on a phone call and she’s not happy. Is she calling the octopus thing at the end though? I felt that wasn’t very clear. I just hope that they get rid of it soon. He gives me the creeps.
At the very end of the call, we find out that things are worse than originally thought. Apparently this thing has been having children which means there are more of them out there. Oh boy. This town (and us readers) are in for a crazy ride. What did you think of Something is Killing the Children #5?
