Let's Talk About SOMETHING IS KILLING THE CHILDREN #8
Something Is Killing the Children #8 is finally out, and wow, it’s interesting. The series is written by James Tynion IV with art by Werther Dell’Edera. If you haven’t started reading the series yet, be warned that it is not for the faint of heart. If you haven’t read the issue yet, you can get it from your local comic shop or digitally through a number of retailers including comiXology.
This issue starts with the Sheriff talking with John, who’s in a hospital. The hope is that James will be able to explain what’s going on to the Sheriff. He wants to understand so that he can figure out how to proceed with things, but he’s discouraged when James isn’t able to explain too much and does say that the monsters are not aliens.
We then have Erica and Aaron going to get Bian from the sheriff’s office, but Tom shows up and complicates things. He heard about Aaron’s plan and doesn’t like the idea of Bian and James being used as bait. Aaron goes to fight him, but Erica knocks him out, later claiming it was to prevent Aaron from destroying Tommy. It’s definitely interesting to see Erica be acting almost like a double agent. She doesn’t want the kids to die and she doesn’t want to use them as bait, but she’s got to play along at least a little with Aaron.
Meanwhile, the principal is trying to help parents find their kids’ bodies, and we see Tommy, who sees something problematic arising in the woods. Things do not look good for him. He finds a corpse that’s been torn apart, and then it looks like some monsters attack him. Things do not look good for Homestar Runner.
