Let's Talk About THE CLONE WARS Season 7 Episode 11 - "Shattered"

I know that the final episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is out, but first, we have to talk about the penultimate episode, “Shattered.” This episode was so nuts. If you haven’t watched it yet, stop reading and go watch it. All episodes of The Clone Wars are now available on Disney+.

Holy crap guys. The suspense levels of this episode were insane. I was so stressed out the entire time, waiting for the clones to start attacking Ahsoka. Well, we were then proven that the fan-made video showing the fight between Ahsoka and Maul and the fight between Windu and Palpatine was incorrect as Ahsoka goes to have a meeting with Windu, Yoda, and more. This conversation was pretty interesting as Ahsoka tries distancing herself and then gets a little hurt when they try to treat her at the distance she wants. It is great though when Yoda tries to listen to her, but she says she’ll share the message with Anakin when she sees him.

We then see her on the bridge of the shop taking Darth Maul to the Jedi Council for trial when she hears and possibly sees the events of when Anakin becomes Darth Vader. At this same time is when Rex receives Order 66 from Palpatine and it’s just crazy! Rex tries fighting it and for a moment I thought he was going to shoot some of the other clones around Ahsoka, but fires at her. He tells her to look for Fives, trying to give her a clue before he’s taken over completely. This episode is so intense and so sad guys.

Ahsoka is able to escape from the group of probably 5-10 clones shooting at her and what does she do? She frees Darth Maul. This part is brilliantly written by Dave Filoni. Ahsoka frees Maul so that he can create chaos and serve as a distraction. He asks for a lightsaber and Ahsoka’s response about not rooting for him was just fantastic. She then goes off, finds some droids that help her find out a bit about what Fives found out which then aids her in getting the inhibitor chip out of Rex so that he can think for himself again.

Meanwhile, Maul brutally murders clones left and right. The whole approach reminded me a bit of Magneto as he used metal plates from the ship as shields and then turned them into weapons that decapitate some clones. You know, no big deal. He also forces a clone’s armor through a door as it closes and cuts it off. He is not messing around! What does he need a lightsaber for?

I know that Rex, Ahsoka, and Maul all make it out of this in one piece, but guys, I’m still nervous. This is Grade A writing right here! I know the outcome, but am still nervous about everything. I love it! What was your favorite part of the episode?
