Let's Talk About THE CLONE WARS Season 7 Episode 7 - "Dangerous Debt"

I’m just going to come out and say it before the spoiler warning this week. This current storyline in Star Wars: The Clone Wars sucks. I had hope that in “Dangerous Debt” things would become more interesting, but I was proven wrong. However, it should be noted that as the story continues, we may see how Ahsoka will fit into the second season of The Mandalorian. If you haven’t watched the latest episode, this is your warning that spoilers are ahead and you can watch new episodes every Friday on Disney+.

Come on, Clone Wars! This episode was terrible. There was some useful exposition, but it could’ve and probably should’ve been revealed earlier in this story. Why did we end up exactly where we left off? That feels terrible as a viewer. We have literally not progressed at all. We learned two things in this episode and both could’ve been done in different episodes.

The first thing we learn is that Rafa and Trace blame the Jedi for the death of their parents. I can sort of understand this, but we could’ve learned this earlier and if anything, it would’ve just added more tension to the whole thing of Ahsoka doing her best to not reveal she was a Jedi. Instead, we got an episode where they start in a prison cell of the Pykes and ends in the exact same cell. There’s a lack of story progression and a literal lack of character progression. Why does this episode exist?

The reason it exists is the second thing we learn. There are Mandalorians on the planet. We don’t really meet any of them, but many of us are figuring this will somehow tie into The Mandalorian. I guess we’ll see if we’re proven correct.

I’m really just done with this. These three episodes could’ve really been two in my opinion. I’m just done with this very generic story and want to see Ahsoka and Anakin having a meeting. What did you think of “Dangerous Debt?”
