Let’s Talk About THE MANDALORIAN Chapter 3 “The Sin” - This Show Just Gets Better and Better!
We are three chapters in on The Mandalorian and this series just gets better with every episode that is released! Chapter 3 is titled “The Sin” and it takes the story in a wicked exciting direction! This is the best episode yet and it’s filled with the most intense and best action sequences we’ve seen so far.
If you haven’t seen The Mandalorian Chapter 3 “The Sin” yet, then this discussion is not for you.
The first two episodes of the season were the big set up for what happens in “The Sin”. After the Mando turns “The Child” in to The Client, collects his reward, and gets a badass new set of armor made from his reward, his conscience gets the better of him and he goes back to save “The Child” from whatever this shadowy group wants from him. It seems like they are going to use The Child for nefarious means. The Mando’s connection with the child is definitely a strong one, and he’s willing to risk everything for him, including his life.
Early on in the episode while The Mandalorian is having his armor forged, we get some interesting insight into his relationship with his fellow Mandalorians and we also see more flashbacks of Mando’s horrific childhood including the last moment that he sees his parents alive.
The scene in which he rescues the child is pretty damn awesome as he fights his way through one Stormtrooper after another. After snatching up the child and starting his escape, a bounty is placed on The Mandalorian and every bounty hunter in the area comes after him. This leads to an incredible action sequence as The Mandalorian fights to survive and protect the child.
I just have to say I love these action sequences and the way they are choreographed and how they play out. I’m seeing lots of shots that are obviously inspired by the classic westerns and Samurai films that I’ve enjoyed over the years. It also felt like stuff you’d see from a John Wick movie.
This escape sequence all leads to an epic finale as The Mandalorian finds himself in a dire situation that doesn’t look like he’ll be able to fight his way out of. At the moment where we’re wondering how he’s going to get out of his situation, a squad of Mandalorians fly in to save the day! This is something I never thought I’d see and it was a glorious moment that seriously brought me to tears. Watching these Mandalorians fight to save their brother in arms was a spectacular sight to behold and it just filled me with so much joy and excitement!
I imagine that it’s only going to get better from here! The Mandalorian turns his back on the bounty hunter guild. He is traveling through space with the child, and we have no idea where he is headed! The Mandalorian is now on the run with the child and in a way, the real story has just begun.
