THE MARVELS Box Office Projections are Not Looking Good, But We've Got New Posters!

The box office projections for Marvel Studios’ upcoming film The Marvels have come in and it’s not looking good. According to Box Office Pro, the movie is projected to make $50-75, which is significantly behind 2019’s Captain Marvel.

The Marvels is looking to make somewhere between $121 million and $189 million, and I imagine it’s going to be on the lower end of these projections. When it comes to the current pre-sales for the film, they are 69% behind the pace of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and 42% behind Eternals.

I don’t think anyone is surprised by this with the current state of superhero and comic book movies. I’ve always said that if Marvel continued to pump out good-quality stories, fans and I would continue to show up to watch them. But, the all-around quality of the projects has dropped in various ways and people are starting to lose interest.

If you want people to continue to show up and watch your movies, you’ve got to give them good-quality filmmaking and storytelling.

The Marvels was made on a budget of $273 million, which is ridiculous for this movie. After all the marketing dollars being pumped into the film, estimates have the film breaking even only if it makes $680 million worldwide. I seriously doubt that’s going to happen.
