Liev Schreiber and Zazie Beetz Hunt a Twisted Serial Killer in Apple TV’s NOCTURNE Trailer
Apple TV is heading into some dark territory this Halloween season with Nocturne, a new serial killer thriller starring Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz, and Stephen Graham.
The trailer has arrived, and it looks like a nasty psychological game involving murder, family, and a killer who can still cause plenty of damage from behind bars.
Schreiber stars as Jonah Lynn, an ex-soldier turned homicide detective who has had enough of working the brutal streets of Philadelphia. Looking for something calmer, he relocates to a small town in western Pennsylvania. That plan falls apart when imprisoned serial killer Jurek Walter, played by Graham, targets Jonah's new home and family.
Jonah is eventually forced to send his surrogate daughter, FBI Agent Saga Bauer, played by Beetz, after Jurek's last missing victim. Putting someone he loves directly in the path of a dangerous killer turns the investigation into something much more personal.
There's definitely some Mindhunter crossed with The Silence of the Lambs energy in the concept, particularly with a dangerous incarcerated killer becoming central to an increasingly personal investigation. Graham is also a great choice to play someone capable of getting under everyone's skin.
The cast also includes Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan, Gary Carr, and Landon Valentin.
Nocturne is adapted from Lars Kepler's Killer Instinct book series, specifically Lazarus and The Sandman. John Hlavin, whose credits include Underworld: Awakening, Shooter, and The Man Who Fell to Earth, serves as writer and showrunner. Rowan Joffe, known for Tin Star, Locked In, and Ballad of a Small Player, created and wrote the series.
Episodes are directed by Tim Van Patten, Allen Coulter, Logan Kibens, Anu Menon, and Joe Chappelle. The series comes from A+E Studios, Range Studios, and Sleepy Poppy.
Nocturne premieres exclusively on Apple TV on October 30, 2026, making it a well-timed thriller for Halloween weekend.
