LIGHTS OUT Trailer: Producer James Wan Hopes You're Afraid of The Dark
James Wan has horror fans gripping their armrests in theaters right now with The Conjuring 2, and now Warner Bros. has released the newest trailer for a horror thriller he produced called Lights Out. It's based on a short film by David F. Sandberg (who also directed the full feature), and it follows a pair of children who encounter a horrifying spirit who only shows up in the dark and disappears when the lights are turned on. As it turns out, their mother has a unique connection to this sinister force, and it looks like this will be a tense, imaginative experience for horror fans everywhere. (But for the love of God, will studios cut it out already with the "sad, slow, creepy covers of popular songs" trend that's poisoned trailers over the past few years?)
The film stars Teresa Palmer, Gabriel Bateman, Billy Burke, Alexander DiPersia, and Maria Bello.
Lights Out hits theaters on July 22, 2016.
