Lily Collins Jumps on Board INHERITANCE with Simon Pegg

Variety reports that Lily Collins will be joining Simon Pegg in a new indie film called Inheritance.

“Inheritance explores what happens when the patriarch of a wealthy and powerful family suddenly passes away, leaving his wife and daughter with a shocking secret inheritance that threatens to unravel and destroy their lives."

The script was written by Matthew Kennedy, with Vaughn Stein behind the camera. Interestingly, Stein is coming off his debut film, Terminal, which also starred Pegg. Stein also worked with Highland Film Group to sell Terminal and will be working with them again on Inheritance, so it sounds like they all enjoyed the experience last time and are keen to do it again.

Collins’s recent projects include the (non-musical) BBC adaptation of Les Miserables soon to premiere on PBS (it just finished airing in the UK). She is also in the Ted Bundy biopic starring Zac Efron with the long weird name that I hate typing out but fine, I will do it anyway — Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. It just premiered at Sundance and got picked up by Netflix, so it seems Collins is pretty hot right now. Also, GeekTyrant co-founder Free Reyes has a bit of a thing for her.

There’s no word on when this goes into production, but we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, let’s all try to guess what the shocking inheritance is. A sex dungeon? A dead body? The ability to time travel? If anyone guesses right GeekTyrant will give them a high five.
