EVIL DEAD RISE Actress Lily Sullivan Set To Star in M3GAN Spinoff Series SOULM8TE
Evil Dead Rise star Lily Sullivan has landed the lead role in the upcoming M3GAN spinoff movie SOULM8TE, which is being produced by Atomic Monster and Blumhouse.
Sullivan will play the “gorgeous, artificially intelligent android that a man acquires to help him cope with the loss of his recently deceased wife.
“In an attempt to create a truly sentient partner, the man inadvertently turns a harmless lovebot into a deadly soulmate.”
The movie is set in the same universe as M3GAN, and it’s described as being “a great deal more risqué than the original horror thriller.” It’s also said that the film falls in the tradition of ’90s domestic thrillers but with a modern, technological twist.
The movie will be directed by Kate Dolan (You Are Not My Mother) after rewriting the original draft from Rafael Jordan (Salvage Marines), which was based on a story by James Wan, Ingrid Bisu and Jordan.
Dolan said in a statement: “Fundamentally, I view this film as an exploration of relationships and loneliness. Despite technological advances, there are enduring human truths we cannot escape, and I am looking forward to delving into those depths.”
Wan said: “Soulm8te is a thrilling and seductive addition to the ‘M3GAN’ universe. We’re excited to partner with Kate to bring this story to life with her unique cinematic vision and point of view.”
Universal Pictures has dated it for January 2, 2026.
