Lindsay Lohan Returning to Acting With Netflix Original Holiday RomCom
Lindsay Lohan is returning to acting in a Netflix original holiday movie that is yet-to-be-titled. In the romantic comedy, Lohan will play a “newly engaged, spoiled hotel heiress” (according to the logline), who gets amnesia after a skiing accident and “finds herself in the care of a handsome, blue-collar lodge owner and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas.” The rest of the cast has not yet been announced.
This is another cheesy Christmas movie following the same Hallmark formula that has a solid following at Netflix. It’s good to see Lohan back on the screen after a long hiatus from acting. She had a lot of hits in her childhood and adolescence, and I’m glad she is getting back to it. She was recently in the series Sick Note with Rupert Grint and Nick Frost, and also starred in the horror thriller Among the Shadows.
Janeen Damian (A Christmas Waltz) will direct, from a script she co-wrote with Michael Damian, Jeff Bonnett and Ron Oliver. The film is set to start production this November, so we can expect it to hit Netflix in the 2022 holiday season.
