Lionsgate Casts Michael Fassbender in MALKO Which Is Based on the S.A.S. Book Series

Lionsgate is creating the film Malko, which is to be based on the S.A.S. series from Gerard de Villiers, and Michael Fassbender is now on board. Fassbender will star in and produce the film, which Lionsgate is hoping to use to launch a franchise because everything has to be a franchise these days. Malko will be written by Eric Warren Singer and mostly based on the book Checkpoint Charlie which has the following synopsis:

Unbalanced, the Pontiac hunted from the rear, mowing a Vopo that ran towards her. In a frightful noise of scrap, the heavy car crushed its grille on the second concrete baffle. The left front wing shredded completely, trapping the wheel. Malko stepped back and gave a furious thrust. The old Pontiac trembled but did not move. From all sides the Vopos came running. This time they were lost.

What do you think of them adapting the S.A.S. series of books? Do you think Fassbender will fit the role?
