Lionsgate Confirms a AAA JOHN WICK Video Game Is Officially in the Works
Lionsgate is officially pulling the trigger on a major expansion of the John Wick universe, and this time it’s heading straight into AAA video game territory. During the company’s latest earnings call, Adam Fogelson, Chairman of Lionsgate, confirmed that a high-budget John Wick game is currently in development, with a full reveal expected soon.
While Lionsgate has been steadily building out its film and TV slate, the studio is also leaning harder into gaming as fans continue to show interest in interactive versions of its biggest franchises.
According to Fogelson, John Wick is right at the center of that strategy, and it won’t be the only one making the jump.
“Our AAA game opportunities and other gaming opportunities around John Wick and Saw and some others that we’ll be announcing soon.”
This John Wick game is far enough along to be discussed publicly and teased with an upcoming announcement. Lionsgate is also reviving Saw in the gaming space, marking the first new entry since SAW II: Flesh and Blood, which launched back in 2010.
Details on either project are still locked down, but Lionsgate wants a real presence in the premium gaming market.
John Wick has become one of the studio’s most valuable properties, fueled by a devoted fanbase and a reputation for tightly choreographed action.
Keanu Reeves has played the legendary assassin across four films, beginning with John Wick in 2014 and continuing through John Wick: Chapter 2, John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum, and John Wick: Chapter 4. The franchise is still going strong, with a fifth film currently in development alongside a spinoff centered on Caine, played by Donnie Yen.
Lionsgate has also acknowledged the growing demand for adaptations that let fans step directly into these worlds rather than just watch them. A properly funded AAA John Wick game seems like a natural evolution of that idea, especially given how often fans have imagined what a fully realized Wick action game could look like.
For now, Lionsgate is keeping specifics close to the vest. There’s no word yet on the developer, gameplay style, or whether Reeves will be directly involved. Still, with a reveal promised and multiple gaming projects in motion, it looks like John Wick is finally going to get a proper video game!
