Lionsgate is Looking To Make a Ninth SAW Film; Is Anyone Surprised?
Did you know that the eighth and most recent film in the Saw franchise, Jigsaw, was a huge success? The film was made on a budget of $10 million and it made over $100 million at the box office. That's an epic profit. So it shouldn't come as a surprise to you to learn that Lionsgate wants to make another sequel.
Even though Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) was killed off in Saw III, his horrific legend lives on and the studio just won't him really die. According to Bloody-Disgusting, Twisted Pictures is planning a ninth Saw movie and as of right now things are just in conversation mode. One thing they seem to know for sure is that Jigsaw directors Michael and Peter Spierig will not be returning to direct the film.
Jigsaw turned out to be an okay sequel, although it's pretty much more of the same. I just think they should just move on from the franchise and try to create something new. But the Saw franchise is still bringing in the big money, so as long as that continues to happen, we'll continue to see Saw movies.
Are you a fan of the Saw franchise and are you excited to hear that you will probably see a ninth film?
