Lionsgate Officially Announces SAW XI

“The game continues.” Lionsgate has officially announced that they will be developing Saw XI, and they revealed the release date is September 27th, 2024, which is the same release winder as Saw X.

They haven’t revealed any details for the movie, but Saw X actually told an interesting story in the franchise and it was set between the events of the first and second Saw films.

The film follows a sick and desperate John Kramer (Tobin Bell) who “travels to Mexico for a risky and experimental medical procedure in hopes of a miracle cure for his cancer – only to discover the entire operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. The infamous killer returns to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature visceral way through devious, deranged, and ingenious traps.”

The goal for that movie was to deliver a film that “captures everything Saw fans love about the franchise, while also keeping them guessing with all-new traps and a new mystery to solve.” I think the succeeded in that.

There’s no word on if Bell will return again to the franchise, but it’s unlikely. I think Lionsgate should give the franchise a rest… unless they actually have an amazing unique idea that will blow fans away.

What do you think about Lionsgate’s desire to continue to bleed out out this franchise?
