Liquid Death Turns Lip Balm Into a Calm, Terrifying Lesson in Facial Decay

Liquid Death has never played by the rules of traditional advertising, and their latest campaign feels like they took those rules, shredded them, and fed them to a cursed videotape.

Teaming up with e.l.f. Cosmetics, the brand unleashed Lip Embalm, a lip balm commercial that calmly and confidently explains how failing to moisturize your lips will eventually cause your entire face to rot off.

The spot presents itself like a soothing skincare ad, but quickly swerves into nightmare fuel. In an almost educational tone, it lays out a future where dry lips lead to full facial decay, as if this were just common knowledge dermatology forgot to mention.

The delivery is methodical, and somehow makes the whole thing more disturbing. It plays less like a joke and more like a public service announcement you’d see in the middle of the night on a channel you don’t remember subscribing to.

Lip Embalm is a limited-edition product and it leans hard into Liquid Death’s signature flavor naming. The lineup includes Severed Lime, Killer Cola, Rest In Peach, and Doctor Death, which somehow feel perfectly reasonable once you’ve watched the ad.

What really sells the whole thing is how straight-faced it is. There’s no winking at the camera and no over-the-top punchline. It just presents the idea that your face will eventually betray you if you don’t hydrate your lips and moves on like that’s perfectly normal.

It’s part skincare commercial, part cautionary tale, and part bedtime story you absolutely shouldn’t tell kids unless you want them moisturizing for life.

Once again, the brand proves it understands how to hijack attention without chasing trends or playing it safe.

If the goal was to create a lip balm commercial people won’t forget, mission accomplished. Your lips might be dry right now, and after watching this, you’re probably thinking about it a lot more than you were five minutes ago.
