We have all been wondering if Beyonce would come out with any original songs for Disney’s upcoming live-action remake of The Lion King, and now we have just that to enjoy before the film hits theaters next weekend. The synopsis for The Lion King is as follows:

From Disney Live Action, director Jon Favreau’s all-new “The Lion King” journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his.

Beyonce voices Nala in the film and is joined by Donald Glover as Simba, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Billy Eichner as Timon, John Oliver as Zazu, and Seth Rogen as Pumbaa.

I’m excited for this movie. I think it looks pretty great, and I know my kids will love it. The Lion King opens in theaters on July 19th. Are you excited?
