Listen to the First Trailer for Rami Malek's Podcast Thriller BLACKOUT
Back in December, I heard about an upcoming podcast starring Rami Malek called Blackout. The first season will contain eight episodes and it’s going to be a thriller. Now, you can listen to the trailer below for Blackout and find out if it sounds like your type of podcast.
“Set in small-town New Hampshire, a radio DJ (Malek) fights to protect his family and community after the power grid goes down nationwide, upending modern civilization.”
Malek also serves as executive producer of the podcast and In it, he voices the New Hampshire DJ named Simon. While talking to EW, the actor talked about the project saying:
“This is a hyper-realistic story of what would unfold should the grid go down; how we would be totally unprepared to deal with the repercussions.
The themes that we touch on because of that will explore and delve into how we respond as the most bare human beings that we are. Themes of community versus tribalism will come up, and then you will think about this loss of our sense of community and the longing that comes with increasing tech taking over our lives, and just reverting back a world that now seems so distant, a world of truly listening to one another.”
Blackout was created by Scott Conroy and the first two episodes will be released on March 19 with a new episode every week. Will you be listening?
