Live-Action LAST KIDS ON EARTH Series Gets Pilot Order at Disney+

Disney+ is bringing the series Last Kids On Earth back to the small screen in live-action. The new take on the series, based on Max Brallier’s bestselling book series, has received a pilot order at the streamer as well as the Disney Channel.

The project hails from Gotham Knights co-creators Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux and Kevin Tancharoen (The Book of Boba Fett, The Brothers Sun).

Written by Fiveash and Stoteraux and directed by Tancharaoen, in Last Kids On Earth, when monsters overrun the sleepy town of Wakefield, a mismatched group of teens must band together, not only to survive, but to become the unlikely heroes charged with stopping the End of the World.

The Last Kids On Earth animated series premiered on Netflix in 2019 with an hour-long special. It went on to run for two additional 10-episode seasons, ending in 2020 on the streamer.

Based on Brallier’s books, the action-comedy followed 13-year-old orphan Jack Sullivan and his loyal group of friends who turn a decked-out treehouse into an epic headquarters to survive and fight back after a monster and zombie apocalypse.
