Live-Action Series Based On Rick Riordan's THE KANE CHRONICLES in the Works at Disney+

Disney is working on another series from Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan, this time bringing the expansive mythological universe inside The Kane Chronicles to life.

A live-action series adaptation of the book series is currently in development at Disney+. Riordan will create the series with Angela Robinson (How to Get Away with Murder, True Blood, The L Word).

The Kane Chronicles is a trilogy consisting of The Red Pyramid, The Throne of Fire, and The Serpent’s Shadow. The story is based on Egyptian mythology that is set in the same universe as Riordan’s other series, Camp Half-Blood Chronicles and Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard.

The story follows siblings Carter and Sadie Kane, both powerful magicians and descendants of two pharaohs, Narmer and Ramses the Great. The book series takes them on adventures where they are forced to contend with the Egyptian gods and goddesses in the modern world.

The logline for the Disney+ series is: “When their father unleashes the god of chaos and vanishes, the estranged Kane siblings must master their inherited Egyptian magic, forge unlikely alliances, and rescue their father before warring gods can wreak havoc on our modern world.”

Are you a fan of this series? Who would you like to see star in the adaptation?
