Live-Action TEEN TITANS TV Series May Find A Home at Another Network Since TNT Passed
Back in 2014, TNT was developing a live-action Teen Titans TV show called Titans. But just a few weeks ago, we found out that the network ended up passing on the idea, leaving many to assume that was the end of the project altogether. But DC Comics' Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has breathed new life into the idea of seeing the young heroes in the flesh on the small screen. At the TCAs, right after the news was released to the press, Johns told TV Line:
“We [at DC] have known about [Turner nixing Titans] for months and months and months. That’s not new news to us. We have plans for Titans,” Johns asserted. “It’s a huge piece of DC and we have plans.”
I suppose it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that DC wasn't just going to let the property languish in development hell forever. When TNT initially passed, I speculated if The CW would be interested in grabbing the property so they could possibly incorporate those character into their other live-action DC shows in a crossover episode or two. Honestly, The CW makes way more sense as a home for a show about teen heroes than anywhere else, and I'd be shocked if they weren't pursuing a deal with DC behind the scenes right now. We'll keep you updated on the fate of Titans as soon as we hear anything else.
