LOGAN Director James Mangold is Currently Working on a Script For an X-23 Spinoff Film
After fans flocked to the theaters to see Hugh Jackman play Wolverine for the last time in Logan, a lot of them hoped that the story would continue with an X-23 spinoff movie. She is such a great character and she was perfectly played by Dafne Keen. It would be crazy if we don't see an X-23 solo film!
Well, during an interview with THR, Logan director James Mangold revealed that he is currently working on a script for a potential spinoff film. When asked about it he said:
"We're just working on a script."
That's definitely good to hear and the first and most important step in a long process to get the X-23 film into production. Mangold goes on to say the success of DC's Wonder Woman, will help in getting the film made.
"Patty [Jenkins]'s success with that film only solidifies more for studios that there's less to fear with a female protagonist. The more that keeps getting hit home, that ends up giving me more space turning around and going, 'Well here we are with a female protagonist. That's incredible. And what are we going to do with her?' And that's where we are with that [the Laura script] right now, dreaming."
Well, I hope something comes of this X-23 script that he's developing! There's so much potential with this character and so many ways that they can play with her! Fox would be stupid not to continue X-23's journey on the big screen!
