LOGAN Director James Mangold Set to Helm an Adaptation of The Children's Book CRENSHAW
Logan director James Mangold has jumped on board a new film project and it's not the kind of project that you might expect for him to be a part of. According to THR, he will direct a live-action adaptation of the popular children's book Crenshaw. The project is set up at 20th Century Fox and if you're not familiar with the story, here's a description:
“Jackson and his family have fallen on hard times. There’s no more money for rent. And not much for food, either. His parents, his little sister, and their dog may have to live in their minivan. Again. Crenshaw is a cat. He’s large, he’s outspoken, and he’s imaginary. He has come back into Jackson’s life to help him. But is an imaginary friend enough to save this family from losing everything? Beloved author Katherine Applegate proves in unexpected ways that friends matter, whether real or imaginary.”
That sounds like an emotional and inspiring story and will make for a moving film. I'm sure the director will do a fine job bringing this charming story to life on the big screen. Mangold is also working on a spin-off film for Logan that will focus on the character X-23, which fans are excitedly looking forward to.
