Looks Like Glen Powell Has Joined The Cast of TOP GUN MAVERICK After All

Before Miles Teller was cast in the role of Goose's son Wrigley in Top Gun Maverick, Glen Powell (Set It Up, Everybody Wants Some) was in the running. I thought that he would have been a much better choice, but it's ok because according to THR, he ended up joining the cast of the film after all. When he learned that he had lost the role of Goose's son to Teller, Powell joking shared the following tweet:

There's no word on who Powell will be playing, but I'm sure he'll be one of the younger pilots training under Tom Cruise's Maverick.

Joseph Kosinski, who directed Cruise in the sci-fi thriller Oblivion, is directing the long-awaited sequel and Jennifer Connelly is also in talks to join the cast as a single mother who runs a local bar near the Navy base. Val Kilmer is also set to return.

The sequel takes place with Maverick as a Top Gun flight instructor and it will explore the antagonistic relationship between Maverick and Goose's son, who isn't very happy with Maverick and the role he played in his dad's death.
