Lord Miller Producing High Concept Sci-Fi Comedy I PROMISE WE'RE COOL With Max Tzannes Directing and Charlie Hall Writing
Phil Lord and Chris Miller, aka Lord Miller, have come aboard to produce I Promise We’re Cool, a high concept comedy that was just set up at Universal Pictures.
Charlie Hall, son of Julia Louis-Dreyfus, best known for his acting work in shows The Sex Lives of College Girls and Monster: The Ed Gein Story, is set to write the script, while Max Tzannes (Found Footage: The Making of the Patterson Project), who is part of the filmmaking collective Dirty Shot Clean, is on board to direct.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the project is described as a high concept high school comedy with a sci-fi twist.
Sources also indicate that the project’s story elements are perfectly in line with the Lord and Miller, who wrote and directed 21 Jump Street, which featured adult cops undercover in high school, and directed this year’s space-faring adventure sensation Project Hail Mary.
