Review: LORE OLYMPUS is a Beautiful and Vibrant Hardcover Book

Lore Olympus by Rachel Smythe is the popular Webtoon comic about the love story between Persephone and Hades. It has recently made its way from the digital world into a hardcover collection and it is beautiful. It’s a really well made book, the colors are vibrant and the layout of the comic is well done and easy to read.

There’s even a bonus chapter at the end that never made its way into the story as written, so that was a fun surprise to have at the end. There are also panels here and there that look like they were original sketches before being completely inked and colored which for how dreamy looking a lot of the art is, it was fun to see how a panel starts before being finished. Don’t worry though, none of the panels like that are for major moments, all the really important panels are in their full color glory.

If you’re a fan of Lore Olympus then I would highly recommend getting this, it was so fun to go back and read it from the beginning and see how the art style has grown. If you’re new to the comic then I would recommend reading it online, the story has gotten far past where the book ends and it ends at a spot where you definitely do not want to stop reading. There is a volume 2 slated to be released July of 2022. I’m so happy to see more of this comic being released and hope that other Webtoon comics can soon get similar treatment. I give this book a 10/10, loved it start to finish.
