LOST Meets SURVIVOR in a New Reality Show From ABC Called CASTAWAYS
I never got into Lost. All my friends described it as Gilligan’s Island with guns and polar bears. I tried watching the first episode when the show was on one of its later seasons and I was so confused I gave up on it. However, I know a lot of people got sucked into it who may be interested in ABC’s new reality show, Castaways, which is described as "Survivor-meets-an unscripted Lost."
Apparently, 12 people will be dropped off on islets in Indonesia with the simple goal of survival. Deadline reports that the 12 participants will not be stranded together though. They will each be stranded alone with washed up luggage and resources scattered around. The only ways off the island are surviving long enough to be rescued or quitting.
The part that I think will be most interesting is that they plan to incorporate flashbacks.
“As dramatic situations unfold on an expanse of islands in the South Pacific, the series flashes back to the real lives of each participant in documentary fashion, demonstrating haunting parallels to the lives they left behind.”
Castaways is set to premiere August 7, 2018, on ABC at 10:00 PM EDT.
