Lots of Pink Power Ranger POWER RANGERS Toys Recently Revealed By Hasbro
Power Rangers fans saw a lot of Pink during Hasbro’s latest Fan First Friday. The toy company showed off 4 new items, all of them involving the Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger, all of them are part of the Lightning Collection line, and all of them exclusive to GameStop.
First, I know, a lot of people were hoping for other series like Time Force to get their time, but if it’s selling, why stop, right? Also, all prices are MSRP and may not be the actual prices you see. Now, let’s talk about what was shown off. The first time is the Cel-Shaded figure which is a new thing the team is doing.
This figure will be available on August 1 for $24.99 and offers the Pink Ranger with a translucent pink bow and arrow, 3 Blade Blasters (1 for each of its configurations), and a really cool blast effect. It also has lighting and shading painted on creating that cel-shaded look.
Personally, I like the accessories and hate this figure. The painted-on lighting makes no sense for a figure that will be displayed in various poses and lighting and therefore it can look weird to have a shaded area in the light and a highlighted part in the shadows, but maybe I’m in the minority on this one.
Next, we’ve got a new Mighty Morphin Power Morpher, but now it’s pink. This is to mirror the morpher that Kimberly uses in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie from 1995 which is a cool nod. It comes with all 5 core power coins (sorry Dragonzord/White Tigerzord fans) and 4 milk caps (apparently that was another name for pogs) featuring the Pink Ranger. This will cost $49.99 and be available on August 1. I bought the last morpher and sadly it was broken, so I hope this one’s better. Another roleplay item that was revealed was the Mighty Morphin Pink Helmet. Also available on August 1 for $79.99, fans can get this helmet that not just looks pretty on the shelf with the included display stand, but also can be worn!
The final item is the Mighty Morphin Pink and Zeo Pink Ranger 2-pack. This will cost $39.99 on September 1 and comes with the mentioned Pink Rangers and two heads of Kat Hillard to go with them. Some fans are upset that the Zeo helmet has a silver outline around the shape (yeah, I don’t know why that’s a thing either), but I see a lot of good out of the 2-pack. First, this Mighty Morphin figure doesn’t have weirdly bent legs. Second, the bundle comes with a cat figure based on the white cat that Kat could turn into when she was evil. I think this 2-pack is actually really cool.
