LOVE HURTS Featurette Features a Little GOONIES Reunion
Universal Pictures has released a new featurette for Ke Huy Quan upcomning action film Love Hurts, and it gives us a really cool little Goonies reunion!
It shows Quan with his co-star Sean Astin along with Jeff Cohen, all of which starred in The Goonies. Qun says, “You know, the last time Sean and I shared any meaningful scenes together was forty years ago on The Goonies.” Now, they are working together again!
The film comes from the producers of the groundbreaking action films Nobody, Violent Night, Atomic Blonde, The Fall Guyand it’s described as a “visceral, high-octane story of wrath and revenge.”
Ke Huy Quan stars as Marvin Gable, “a realtor working the Milwaukee suburbs, where "For Sale" signs bloom. He receives a crimson envelope from Rose (Ariana DeBose), a former partner-in-crime that he had left for dead. She's not happy.
“Now, Marvin is thrust back into a world of ruthless hitmen, filled with double-crosses and open houses turned into deadly warzones. With his brother Knuckles (Daniel Wu), a volatile crime lord, hunting him, he must confront the choices that haunt him and the history he never truly buried.”
The cast also includes The cast includes Ariana DeBose, Daniel Wu, Mustafa Shakir, Lio Tipton, Rhys Darby, Marshawn Lynch, and André Eriksen.
The movie is directed by JoJo Eusebio, making his feature directorial debut after working as a stunt coordinator/second unit director on various movies (including Deadpool 2, Birds of Prey, Obi-Wan Kenobi). The screenplay is written by Matthew Murray, Josh Stoddard (Warrior) and Luke Passmore.
Love Hurts hits theatres on February 7th.
