"Lowcost Cosplay" Is the New Cosplay Subgenre
"Lowcost Cosplay" is an emerging subgenre that only creates the impressionistic idea of a movie, cartoon, comic, or TV character. Some of them are so cheaply done that you might only get the reference by looking at the original side by side with the attempted imitation.
You might be saying to yourself, “I’ve been doing Lowcost Cosplay every Halloween for yours,” but that’s where you would be wrong. This new cosplay subgenre uses unconventional materials like cooked Ramen noodles or bananas in place of a blond wing.
We’ve got a few examples by Anucha "Cha" Saengchart of Thailand, who founded the Low Cost Cosplay Facebook page, which is full of submissions from all over the world. Creative, thrifty, and the worst cosplay I’ve ever seen. The key thing is that everyone is having fun.
