Lucasfilm Announces New Animated STAR WARS Series GALAXY OF ADVENTURES and There's a Trailer
Lucasfilm has revealed a new animated Star Wars series they have been developing called Star Wars Galaxy of Adventures.
Lucasfilm told THR that the shorts will include “fun and educational add-ons designed to help older fans, parents, and other mentors to welcome the kids in their lives to explore the galaxy far, far away.”
The stories will include characters such as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Yoda, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, and more. James Waugh, Lucasfilm VP of franchise content and strategy added:
“With Galaxy of Adventures, we wanted to craft something that allowed parents to help their kids take their first step into a much larger world whether they were ready to show their kids the films or wanted to find new ways to explore the content.”
Judging by the trailer, It looks like the series will focus on events that we’ve already seen in the original Star Wars saga films only in animated form, and it will also be using the original sounds and voices from those original films.
Galaxy of Adventures is a series of animated shorts that will air on the new Star Wars kids portal at lol.disney.com, as well as on the YouTube channel Star Wars Kids this Friday. Six of these shorts will be released simultaneously, and there are plans to release more through the month of December.
This is said to be the start of a year-long plan by Lucasfilm to celebrate the Star Wars brand, with episodes scheduled to follow throughout 2019. This is all leading up to the highly anticipated release of Star Wars: Episode IX on December 20, 2019.
