Lucasfilm is Developing a Live-Action STAR WARS Series that Focuses on Cassian Andor From ROGUE ONE

Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, has announced the second live-action Star Wars series that will be gracing Disney’s streaming service Disney+. The series is currently untitled, but we know that it will focus on Cassian Andor from Rogue One before the events of the film (duh, he dies at the end of it).

Diego Luna will be reprising his role as Cassian and one can only hope that Alan Tudyk will be reprising his role as K-2SO. Luna stated:

Going back to the Star Wars universe is very special for me. I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply.

There is no release date, but it is said to go into production next year and is described thusly:

The rousing spy thriller will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire.

I am really excited for this. Rogue One was phenomenal and I’m excited for more of a spy thriller type of show.
