Lucasfilm is Discussing The Next Ten Years of The STAR WARS Franchise

This resurgence of Star Wars films is still in its infancy. As of right now, only two films have been released with The Force Awakens and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is the third film to be released since Disney bought Lucasfilm and after that, we've got Solo: A Star Wars Story and Episode IX.

Well, during a recent episode of The Star Wars Show, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy teased that they have been discussing the next ten years of the franchise, saying:

“We’re sitting down now, we’re talking about the next ten years of Star Wars stories and we’re looking at narratively where that might go; future stories beyond Episode 9, with these new characters, Rey, Poe, Finn, BB-8, but we’re also looking at working with people that are interested in coming into the Star Wars world and taking us to places that we haven’t been yet, and that’s exciting too because it’s a vast galaxy far, far away… The possibilities are endless.”

Look, I love the Star Wars franchise. Like many of you, I'm a huge fan. I personally don't care how many movies that they make as long as they turn out to be good! There's a whole vast universe to play with that's filled with endless stories and characters. Some of these characters are familiar, other can be completely new.

There's no official announcement of any films past Episode IX, but we know that the studio is considering an Obi-Wan Kenobi movie from director Stephen Daldry and other films like Boba Fett, Yoda, and Jabba the Hutt.

What would you like to see Lucasfilm do with the franchise over the next ten years? What kind of films would you like to see get made?

In this installment of The Star Wars Show, we talk with Kathleen Kennedy -- president of Lucasfilm -- on everything happening in Star Wars right now and in the future, debut the first gameplay footage of Kylo Ren in Star Wars Battlefront II, visit Funko headquarters, and much more.
