Lucasfilm is Reportedly Considering a STAR WARS: KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC Trilogy and The First Script is Being Written
I’ve got some exciting news for all you Star Wars fans today! According to a new report, Lucasfilm is developing a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic movie. In fact, there is a script reportedly being written by Laeta Kalogridis. She has worked on films such as Avatar, Alita: Battle Angel, and Shutter Island.
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy previously was specifically asked about a Knights of the Old Republic project and confirmed that Lucasfilm is working on something for them to look at, saying:
"You know, we talk about that all the time. Yes, we are developing something to look at. Right now I have no idea where things might fall..."
Well, now thanks to BuzzFeed, we know that the project is in active development. This could actually end up happening! The report goes on to say that Kalogridis is close to finishing the first script of what could be a Knights of the Republic trilogy! That info comes from three separate sources close to the production.
Knights of the Old Republic is set almost 4000 years before the formation of the Galactic Empire. There have been a ton of novels and comic books that have spun off of the game. Fans have been wanting to see some of these stories brought to the big screen for years and it’s pretty exciting that there is some real movement on it.
With the next three Star Wars movies after The Rise of Skywalker coming out in 2022, 2024, and 2027, hopefully it’s one of those because I don’t want to wait until 2030 or 2032 to see these movies get released!
What are your thoughts on Lucasfilm having a script written for the first of three possible Knights of the Republic movies?
