Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy Says STAR WARS Sequel Trilogy Characters Will "Live On"
Since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released, the Star Wars franchise has been carried by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s The Mandalorian series. That series gave fans hope that there was a real future with great storytelling in the Star Wars franchise because the sequel trilogy didn’t really do the franchise any favors.
Regardless of that, it sounds like some of the characters from the sequel trilogy will be back for more Star Wars adventures! During a recent interview, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy teased future plans for certain characters. When asked about the characters in the sequel trilogy in an interview with Empire, she said:
"Certainly, those are not characters we're going to forget. They will live on, and those are conversations that are going on with the creative team as well."
Honestly, I could not care less if we ever see any of those characters again. If they were going to continue any story from the films that have been made under Kennedy’s rule, I’m most interested in seeing a continuation of Solo and the characters from that!
But, I can’t really think of one new character from the sequel trilogy that I’d be interested in seeing return for a new project. In fact, it might benefit them to erase everything that happened in that trilogy and try again. This time do it right.
Are there any characters from the sequel trilogy that you’d like to see come back for a new Star Wars story?
