Lucasfilm Reportedly Developing a Slate of Interconnected Live-Action Disney+ STAR WARS Series

Some new rumors have surfaced regarding what Lucasfilm is planning for their live-action Star Wars projects at Disney+. The rumors suggest that that the studio is developing a slate of TV shows that will all be interconnected to one another. Kind of like what Marvel did with its Netflix shows, with a number of characters crossing over into each other’s storylines.

LRM Online is reporting that “the plan is to create a universe where all the shows will be connected with a central storyline. One big inspiration was the popular Game of Thrones series. I know it’s a weird comparison, but let me explain. Instead of making one epic Game of Thrones show, it’d be like if each family had their own show with a central storyline that spills over into the others.”

Starting mid-2021 Lucasfilm is reportedly planning to release a Star Wars show every quarter. The planned shows that were mentioned in the article to interconnect with each other include The Mandalorian, an Ahsoka Tano series, a Boba Fett series, and an Ezra Bridger and Admiral Thrawn show.

The report also claims that Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels creator Dave Filoni will be overseeing the intertwining narratives.

If this is true, there’s no doubt that it will get fans excited! I love what Jon Favreau and Filoni have done with The Mandalorian and I just hope that they keep that same level of storytelling quality as Lucasfilm moves forward with their future shows. It’ll be awesome to see what this all looks like when it’s in full swing.

Lucasfilm is also developing an Obi-Wan Kenobi series and a Cassian Andor series, but those shows are said to not be a part of this because they are only going to be one-off shows that will exist on their own.
